Atienza wants Pacquiao-Sotto tandem if he quits VP race
Metro Manila (CNN Philippines, March 31) — Presidential candidate Senator Manny Pacquiao on Wednesday said his running mate Buhay Party-list Rep. Lito Atienza wants vice presidential bet Senate President Vicente Sotto III to replace him in case he cannot continue his campaign.
“Wala naman kaming problema ni Lito Atienza at ang sabi naman ng aking ka-tandem… kung sakaling hindi niya talaga kaya… gusto niya si Sotto ang pwedeng dalhin as vice president,” Pacquiao said in a media briefing in Iloilo City.

Atienza was unable to join Pacquiao in their campaign activities as the congressman underwent a knee surgery. He is still recovering at home.
“Abangan niyo na lang ang susunod na kabanata kapag nakapag-usap na kami. Hindi pa kami nakapag-usap,” Pacquiao said.

Pacquiao added that he is friends with Sotto and his running mate Senator Panfilo Lacson.
