The Philippines claimed its first gold in archery as Pia Bidaure, Abby Bidaure, and Phoebe Amistoso topped the women’s team recurve.

Host Vietnam settled for silver, while Myanmar copped bronze.

Johann Chua captured his first SEA Games gold after besting Carlo Biado for the men’s nine-ball singles title in an all-Filipino finals showdown.

Chua won 9-6 in the race-to-nine duel as Biado fell short of reclaiming the gold he bagged in the same event in 2017.

GILAS WOMEN THRASH THAILAND FOR SECOND WIN

Afril Bernardino churned out a monster double-double as Gilas Women stayed unbeaten with a 97-81 drubbing of Thailand.

Bernardino put up 20 points and 16 rebounds for the Filipinas, who are off to a 2-0 start in their title-retention bid.
