Magnolia came back with a vengeance in Game 4 of their best-of-5 PBA Governors’ Cup semifinals by decimating Meralco 94-73 on Wednesday at Araneta Coliseum.

With the win, the Hotshots tied the series at 2-2 and forced a deciding Game 5.

Mike Harris led the way for Magnolia with 34 points and 18 rebounds, and came up huge during the second quarter where they held the Bolts to just 11 points.

Paul Lee fought through injury to finish with 17 points, while Calvin Abueva had 11 points and 8 rebounds for Magnolia.

Tony Bishop led Meralco with 22 points, but was limited to just 2 points in the final quarter.

“No more tomorrow that’s the mentality going in,” said Magnolia coach Chito Victolero.

“We just try to live one game at a time, pinag-usapan we need to grind possession by possession on both ends of the floor. Siguro medyo nawawala sa amin in the last two (losing) games is how we enjoy the game. So ’yun lang ginawa namin tonight – grind and enjoy the game.

“It’s all about effort, staying together for 48 minutes.”

Whoever wins the series will face early finalist Barangay Ginebra for the title.

Ginebra concluded its semis series with NLEX, 3-1, following a 112-93 win also on Wednesday.
